Voluntary services in sport have been running in Lower Saxony for exactly 20 years. It all started with 12 volunteers in 2002, and now around 800 volunteers take part in this educational and orientation year with a connection to sport every year. Whether in sports clubs, sports associations or at schools, many young people get involved every day in all of our volunteer placements and contribute to actively shaping Lower Saxony's sports landscape. 

In recent years, many projects have been set up, new services have been added at home and abroad and a total of over 10,000 young people from Lower Saxony have benefited from voluntary services in sport.
