ASC 46
About us
The ASC Göttingen von 1846 e. V. is a classic popular sports club. The association offers its more than 11,000 members an extensive and varied range of sports, in which the classic disciplines such as swimming, gymnastics, basketball, table tennis, gymnastics and dance are represented as well as health and leisure sports that meet the latest medical requirements. In addition, infant sports are an important pillar of the ASC program. Here the focus of the sports philosophy is less on training talented children to become competitive athletes* and more on general training of the child's musculoskeletal system. This is especially reflected in the children's play, sports and movement school. In ASC 46, everyone should be able to do sports, depending on their preferences and personal goals. Under the large ASC roof, therefore, top and general competitive athletes as well as the leisure sports oriented members find their place.
Since 2004 the ASC 46 and the LandesSportBund Niedersachsen e.V. have been cooperating with its sports youth as sponsors for the Voluntary Social Year (FSJ) in Sport.
The basis of this cooperation is the common will to positively develop sports in Lower Saxony with the help of the FSJ. The FSJ im Sport is an important component of youth sport in the sports clubs, sports federations, state professional associations and educational institutions in Lower Saxony. Young people play an important multiplier role in children's and youth sports in Lower Saxony. In our view, this is therefore a "sports policy highlight" that is being worked on in cooperation with the Lower Saxony Sports Youth.
In addition to the FSJ im Sport, the ASC 46 always strives to complement the range of voluntary services in sport in a meaningful way: Via "weltwärts" volunteers are sent to development projects with the medium of sport. During the Voluntary Ecological Year (FÖJ), topics such as environmental and climate protection and energy saving in sports clubs are developed or promoted with many projects in sports organizations. In the "Senior FSJ", the young volunteers work mainly in senior sports. There they work as trainers, take over driving duties etc.
